Se vi dico Kite a Cuba…. se vi dico Kite a L’Havana… vorreste dirmi che non vi affascina? E si fa Kite a Cuba? Certo che si anche se è difficile avere notizie precise… ma questo è in puro “Stile Cubano”.
Si perché la regina dei CARAIBI ci tiene a conservare i suoi segreti nel forziere della sua magica terra, ricca di storia, mistero e bellezze naturali. Io vi aiuterò a saperne di più e a invogliarvi a seguirmi per gli “spot vergini dell’Havana e di tutta Cuba. Dopo essermene innamorato nell’estate 2008, la mia esperienza kite & surf a Cuba nasce dall' inverno 2011, organizzando kite trip e aprendo il primo e attualmente unico riferimento e punto di incontro, il Cuba Kite Surf Village. Il mio ritorno (Dicembre/Gennaio),a l’Havana, è coinciso con il loro Inverno ( 25/30 gradi di media ), dove il vento è stato prettamente di Est NordEst – side side on. Fino circa mezzogiorno mantiene un’intensità media di 10/12 knts per poi aumentare fino a una media di 18/20 knts fino a ruotare a Est – side al tramonto con acqua piatta o 1½ mt d’onda. Meno frequenti sono stati i giorni (due per la precisione) con vento di NW – side on, ma con intensità maggiore e ha alternato periodicamente un “FRONTE FRIO”, 2/3 giorni di N/NE - on shore, sopra i 20 kts dal mattino con onda da 1½ a 3 mt.
Fantastico il downwind di 9 km senza il minimo rischio costeggiando tutta la provincia dell’Havana del Este formata da una sola spiaggia senza rocce e acqua dal fondo sabbioso dai meravigliosi colori caraibici. Vi assicuro che per quei giorni senza vento ( max 8/10 knts nell’orario centrale del giorno) e per le mattine in attesa del suo aumento o direzione da sud - offshore, l’Havana offre miriadi di passatempi (artistici culturali, naturali e storici) che la rendono la Vacanza Kite Surf (per tutti, uomini, donne, coppie e famiglie) più completa e affascinante, per non parlare della magia e dell’allegria che ti regala di giorno e di sera, tutto vissuto direttamente a contatto con il popolo cubano per integrarsi con il loro inimitabile stile, riuscendo veramente a lasciare al di fuori dell’isola tutto il resto. Cuba sarà un’esperienza intensa e rivelatrice, mai lineare, sempre sorprendente; richiede comprensione ed innata abilità nel prendere strade nuove e scoprire cose per proprio conto.
Visitatela al più presto, finchè la sua eredità è ancora intatta.
Cosa portare:
Set Kites 14-10-7 mt,12-9-6 mt in inverno a seconda del peso del/della Kiter. Set Tavole : Bidirezionale (Freestyle), Monodirezionale (Wave), Race-Freerace o Hydrofoil. Lycra, 2mm o 3/2 per i giorni a 20/22 gradi.Scarpette per alcuni secret spot.
Periodo Ventoso (con temperatura e condizione variabile) da Ottobre a Febbraio; statisticamente costante Marzo-Aprile, anche se c’è da dire che negli ultimi 2 anni il clima sta cambiando anche qui ritardando o posticipando la stagione fino a Maggio, comunque vento per un buon 80% dei giorni. Nella Cuba autentica, all' infuori di un paio di offerte nelle zone di hotel all inclusive isolate, a partire da l’ Havana, a parte noi il Cuba Kite Surf Village, purtroppo al momento non ci sono altre opzioni ufficiali e autorizzate, ci sono solo alcuni locals che propongono il loro tempo e attrezzatura, ma senza una vera organizzazione, professione riconosciuta, non offrono alloggi dedicati, comodità da/per e sugli spot, assistenza tecnica, guida alla scoperta di altri spot (perché ancora non è sviluppato e riconosciuto dalla federazione sportiva cubana questo sport e turismo). After falling in love with it in summer 2008, my kite & surfing experience in Cuba was born from winter 2011, organizing kite trips and opening the first and currently the only reference and meeting point, the Cuba Kite Surf Village. My return (December / January), to Havana, coincided with their Winter (25/30 degrees on average), where the wind was purely East Northeast - side side on. Until about noon it maintains an average intensity of 10/12 knts and then increases up to an average of 18/20 knts until it rotates to the East - side at sunset with flat water or 1½ meters of wave. Less frequent were the days (two to be precise) with NW wind - side on, but with greater intensity and periodically alternated a "FRIO FRIO", 2/3 days of N / NE - on shore, above 20 kts from the morning with a wave of 1½ to 3 meters.Fantastic downwind of 9 km without the slightest risk along the entire province of Havana del Este formed by a single beach without rocks and water with a sandy bottom with wonderful Caribbean colors. How to Bring :
